Great news for Cat & the Fiddle fans! Beloved for its wide selection of cheesecake flavours, the brand is marking a new chapter with the launch of its latest concept stores and a range of freshly crafted treats. Stop by their latest Westgate and Tampines 1 outlets to savour exclusive new offerings, including their freshly baked Basque cheesecakes and range of Italian Schiacciata sandwiches.

For the first time, the brand is offering its bake-to-order Basque Cheesecake ($19.90). A cheerful store bell signals that a fresh batch is ready, just before a staff member brings out a tray of piping hot cakes from the oven. As part of a special opening promotion, these cakes will be available at just $15 until 31 January 2026, exclusively at the Tampines 1 outlet.

As I dug my spoon into its caramelised outer layer, I was met with an oozing, molten core that coated each bite in rich creaminess. While the exterior was nicely caramelised, the smoky notes synonymous with a Basque cheesecake could have been a little more pronounced.

I was also introduced to several ways to enhance my cheesecake experience. The first was to pair it with salty crackers, whose satisfying crunch doubled as an improvised biscuit layer.

My favourite combination was a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream, which offered a rich contrast to the cake’s warm centre as it slowly melted on the tongue.

If you prefer your cake chilled, you can freeze it and torch the top for a classic creme brulee-style finish.

A surprising pairing was dipping their Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Cookies ($4.50), with a cream cheese interior, into the cheesecake. The cookies’ earthy chocolate flavours provided a nice contrast, balancing out the creaminess of the pair. You can purchase these cookies on their own at a discount ($3.50) with any other purchase until 31 January.

For something savoury, look no further than their Schiacciata Sandwiches ($15.90 each), available in four variations—Turkey Ham, Honey Baked Chicken Ham, Beef Pastrami, and Smoked Salmon—each filled with a generous amount of fresh ingredients that deliver a wholesome punch with each bite.

While the new offerings further enhance Cat & the Fiddle’s reputation as a sweet haven for dessert lovers, they aren’t exactly groundbreaking, especially given that they are only available at both ends of Singapore. That said, they do add a welcome dimension to their menu at a reasonable price point, and we hope to see them become more accessible islandwide in time.
